I haven't been here for a while. And in that time I stopped coming, I've just been too busy to diet. It's pathetic and unhealthy to run around stressed all day long and to pig out well after midnight and then wake up a 6 a.m. My lifestyle is extremely bad right now.
So I'm gonna shape up.
I want to lose about 10 pounds by 11/11. So that's roughly a month and losing 2.5 pounds a week. I think I'm up for it. And those last few days before the 11th, I won't be able to eat due to some surgery, so I'll kind of be on a forced fast.
I'm currently around 193 pounds. I might be more, but I am so afraid to look at the scale. Once I feel somethingfrom my hard work coming into effect, I may check again.
My plan is to:
- Consume no more than 1,200 calories a day
- Commit to a daily pilates/yoga/yogilates routine
- Do more walking
- Eat only what I know for portions and calories
- Drink tea w/ antioxidants
My ultimate goal weight is 103 pounds. Although this may seem really drastic and low, my frame is really tiny.
Sound good?
I know this was very journal-y, but it's my goal, lol :D

Welcome back!
Remember whatever you do for the short term it's the long term that really matters. Weight loss doesn't help you unless it lasts.
Sorry, don't mean to sound so "preachy."
Best wishes,
Peter

I think making small changes are most effective to reach a long term goal. Losing weight has been and is still one of the hardest things i have ever had to do in my life. I know how to lose weight but commiting to the process is a whole other story. I have lost 40 pounds since august 1st and everyday is still a struggle. Some days are better than others. Most days i have to fight temptation several times a day and i do not always win the battle. Three things i had to realize was
1. Put yourself first. The world will keep on turning if you dropped dead right now. The only people who would really be affected are friends, family and the people who love and depend on you. These are the people you want to be healthy and happy for. If you don't take care of you , you can't give your best to those people.
2. Be patient. You did not get overweight overnight. It's going to take time, energy and effort but it can be done.
3. Losing weight has to be a lifestyle change. Fad diets do not work. Of we had the strength to not eat one type of food than wouldn't it make sense that we could just choose carrots instead of carrot cake? Eat to live.
good luck

Hi 110orbust -
Don't want to be a 'wet blanket', but 1200 cals a day for someone weighing 193 pounds sounds excessively strict. At that rate, some of what you lose will be water and some will be lean muscle. Not a good idea to shed that!
If you aim to lose between 1.5 and 2 pounds per week, there's a good chance that what you lose will all be body fat. You might weigh a bit more than you plan to do, but you'll look better, and you won't have slowed down your metabolism by shedding lean tissue.
I've tried it your way, and I've tried it mine. And I know which one works in the long term...
Just my opinion, formed from bitter experience.
