Ok so, here's a typical thing I notice with myself and other woman trying to lost weight - we love seeing the inches coming off everywhere except the bust!
The thing that freaks me out the most is that even though I'm only 25, my breasts will lose their firmness once I lose the weight I'm aiming for. I'm actually a bit paranoid they are going to end up kind of saggy. Is there anything I can do to sort of prevent this? A special lotion? A different bra? Perhaps doing some upper body toning?
I don't want my boobs to go bye-bye

You may down a full cup size or more depending on how much weight you end up losing overall - sadly we really can't contol that...but smaller doesn't have to be saggier...investing in a couple of really good, well fiting support bras for everyday wear is important - whenever your chest measurement changes, it's time to go new bra shopping! ...and never, ever (ever) doing any type of vigourous exercise - even brisk walking - without wearing a good sports bra..."good" as defined by: you can jump up and down a couple times with zero "jiggle" factor. Incorporating exercises like basic bench presses won't directly affect the breast tissue itself but will strengthen the underlying muscle.

Oh yeah, I'm paranoid about not wearing a good-fitting bra, regardless of where I'm going (except at home). I heard running can actually have effect on your face as well, all the jiggling up and down could make it saggier. I'm not sure if it's true though?

I don't know your age or anything but, we used to do these exercises in school to firm up are breast. You put your arms up and clasp your hands together in front of you. Then you push your arms together as much as you can. I know this isn't a very good description, but I am trying. We use to always chant.....we must, we must improve are bust, lol.
I don't have enough boobs to worry about them sagging . I am just glad if I can find a bra that's not a training bra or out of the kids section... lol

With me it was the opposite.
I was never truly overweight, but definitely could have lost a few pounds. I decided to lose a few pounds some time ago and "tone up" just a teency little bit. Though I managed to lose a little around my waist line, I found my chest area grew in size .
This may sound good, but it has its annoyances. For instance, I always wanted to be able to wear a cute two-piece (a little more modest than a bikini but not as conservative as a one-piece) or a semi-tight, slimming tanktop. I never could because of my somewhat expanded stomach. When I finally thought I could fit into the outfit of my dreams, BAM ! I realized that my boobs had become the new culprits bulging through!
Now not only can't I wear even semi-tight outfits, my mom and friends have now classified me as "busty," and aren't afraid to remind me of this .
So there are problems on either side of the spectrum. Your boobs won't be able to meet your standards if you set them too high. If something does go arry with them, and you find others aren't so understanding, remember: sometimes your most supportive relationship is with your bra !

Well said! You know, you were talking about your dream suit. I have the same problem just the other end of it. I finally this year could buy a new suit that I like and actually doesn't look to bad on me. The only problem is the boob section is to big. So, me being the genius that I am decided to buy it anyway. I am going to try to add extra padding to it. I tried it on over my bra and it fits perfect. Without the bra....it's sad...lol.

Unfortunately, I think it all depends on just how overweight you are/were weather or not you will sag. How fast youre loosing and if you do anything to excercise the muscles underlying the breast. Age is another big factor, as we age the connective tissue becomes less and we loose tone as in every other area of body. Since I was young , the boobs were the first to loose and the last to gain.
If you dont eat enough protein or if you go into starve mode your body doesnt process enough to keep muscles/connective tissue/hair etc to keep healthy, so eating right is important.
When I was loosing weight I noticed the sag, even though I was never more than a full A+ cup/maybe a B when at my heaviest. Now that I lost over 45 lbs, unfortunately my boobies have shrunk and sagged. I never wanted to have a boob job even young, thought It was unecessary and vain. But now I do contemplate it. My boyfriend( bless his heart) says I need not worry, hes fine with them, but I am self concious about them. I also find Im self concious about my "panther belly" but that is getting better with excercise, but will never be the same.
I want to get my boobies "lifted" not really augemented. I know from working in the field of plastics that there are much smaller implants but that surgeons just dont stock them. If anyone has any suggestions in this area(name of surgeons etc) please let us know. I have seen a few tummy tucks and ouch, what a proceedure. Not a proceedure to take lightly. Only would recommend if aLOT of wieght has been lost to rid one of all that excess sking that never goes away.I would only recommend it after all you can do with excercise has been done to the fullest extent.
Even breast augments are not to be taken lightly. man Ive seen some of the horrors no one talks about from the result of infections, accidents, leaking, etc. I still would want to have it done someday for me not anyone else.
After weight loss my face seemed to sag a bit, looked a bit hollow, but now it seems to have filled out. I notice many celebs and older actresses that tend to be too thin or loose too much that get long hard faces so I was very concious of it. My mom was telling me how different my face was when I was young and started to make me feel self concious about my face. My brother said I looked fine and never looked ill. My boyfriend said occasionally when I was tired I looked drawn, but never bad like too thin.
So just watch what you eat and dont over do the weight. They say as one gets older to keep a bit heavier so your face looks good. I think thats good advice.

LOL, that is so quote of the week. I love it.
Lots of good advice from everyone here, it's mainly about food and exercise. What about those 'firming' lotions, anyone think those would work too? I know pregnant woman use shea butter to avoid stretch marks, so I imagine firming lotion helps for shrinkage? I always make a conscious effort to moisturize my breasts, thinking that it will help them stay firmer, hopefully it's not in vain!

I always wanted a boob job. But, my husband would never allow it. Not that I want big boobs...Just normal size would be nice. I don't think even if my husband gave the ok, that I could go through with it. It's easy to say you want it, different to actually do it.
I know what you mean about your face looking older when skinner. When I lost weight all my wrinkles came out. geeezz, I hated that. But, now I am using lotions and night cream and it seems to help. I think alot of that is from dry skin from my thyriod problem also.
I am currently working on my abs cause of excess flab from losing weight. So, there is something to be said about watching your exercise and dieting. I lost most of my weight before I even started exercising. So, that is probably why I have so much to work on now.

I too lost most of the wieght before I started to excercise. I dont know if its true, but a long time ago, I heard that when you have alot of fat/weight to loose, that if you excercise too hard that the fat tissue can get trapped between the skin and the muscle. Like I said, dont know if that is true, but it seemed to make sense. The muscles get firm and fat tissue gets trapped.
We did surgery once on a woman in her late 20s, I never would have said she was overwieght, she must have been 5' 6" aprx 120-130lbs.When we went in laproscopically, there was soooo much adipose/fat that the surgeon could not see/identify the organs. It was soo dense, they had to open her up to do the gall bladder removal. Surgeon said that type of situation usually happens in men.
Skin/muscle was very firm, but the fat was so densely packed around her abdomen and major organs and intestines. That scared me cause visually she looked fit and firm. Men tend to get the "beer belly" "love handles" but generally stay firm and muscular and fat tends to surround their abdomen tightly packed.
I started to excersice when I lost about 2/3rds of my wieght. I noticed I felt loose and but I felt better from the less wieght I was walking around with. I think that helped me. Cause when I was heavier It was hard to just walk up the stairs without feeling tired. Oh well, little steps. Keep up the good work everyone.
AS far as creams all I ever hear about those is that they visually help but they dont actually do anything clinically. Repairing the connective tissue/collagen breakdown is very hard. I think diet plays into it and trying to get the body to strenghten its protein production to the parts like connective tissue is the hardest. But Im up for anything to try and help it out.

Yeah I guess it all comes down to diet, you are what you eat, as they say. Diet is sort of the key to everything, because you could work out all you want and still not lose weight if your diet isn't right. I just wish I wasn't so darn tempted to eat #%@&! all the time!

After breastfeeding 2 kids I have experienced the deflation thing! But when I lost 50 pounds I only lost in the band size...went from a 36D to a 34D...Go figure, I thought for sure they'd shrink to a C or B...I have heard that wearing a good fitting, full coverage bra helps keep everything in place while losing...

Temptations, temptations, they come at us in all forms. But for so many food becomes our biggest "sin". Its not easy, and I belive the recovery of bad eating habits is right up there with the other "drugs" such as alchohol, heroin, cocaine and other substances. It is something that not every one can just go "cold turkey" For many it means getting medical and psychological help.
Whats hard about food versus chemical dependancies is that we NEED to eat. It is something we need to keep alive. So there the battle begins for some. WHere does a physical need become a dangerous need? Everything in its right balance.
Something somewhere at sometime goes wrong in some of us when it comes to food and control. Depression, anxiety, etc. One of the things that makes it easier to get out of control is the fact t hat we need to eat and everbody does it, and many enjoy food to the point of overeating to a point, so it became normal for me.
Everyday is a challenge and if controlling my overeating is the biggest problem that I guess its something I have to live with. But these forums do help me realise that Im not the only one out there and we can all help each other out with our experiences.
Thanx to all

Well said, pris. I agree too, these forums really are a nice realization and booster for us to get back on track, or on track if we were never on it in the first place.
DaniMae1 - so you think they won't sag as much as long as you are losing while you are wearing a good fitting bra? What happens when the bra comes off though, will they just sag down? I know that wearing a bra helps anything.. but I think I'm mostly concerned with the way they would look to the opposite sex when he sees them, lol. If girls got a guy that loves breasts no matter how they look - kudos! I'm sure we all know a lo of men desire the 'perky firm ones' whether he admits it or not. I know that sounds kinda shallow but eh... it seems to be the sad truth!

Well said, it comes down to "when the bra comes off". My man says the same thing all the time, that he loves me and was never into "big uns" he likes small ones. But theres small with shape and theres just small empty "wallets" like mine, and I was never large or even average. They ballooned when I had my first son. I got giant but could not breast feed.
After weight loss , well like the little guy to the left shows, its sad. My boyfriend says he doesnt care, but Id like to have then done. My problem is finding someone that will do them and not make them giant. Most surgeons dont even carry small b cup sized implants. They always tell you "bigger, go bigger" I dont want to have to buy new bras, and I bought too many really nice tops/blouses/sweaters after losing weight that I dont want to NOT be able to wear them or have the buttons "pop" I want to look like I do now without my bra or be able to buy a beautiful unconstructed lace bra that fits or doesnt make me look flat as a board.
Just nice and perky, like when I was 24.

| Geez, I'd love for my boobs to fall off and never come back! What seems to do the trick? Certain exercises or just dieting in general?
