| What are some good exercises to do. Also are Sit-ups/Push-ups good for losing weight?

ANYTHING that gets you moving is good to lose weight. Building muscle will help to boost your metabolism throughout the day, and cardio will help you to burn fat. It really depends on your current activity level as to what exercises might be recommended. If you're already active, then you might want to go running a few miles a day. If you're basically a couch potato, a walk around the block could be enough to get you started.

I suggest you have a look at the calorie calculator and play around with it to see what type of activity / time/ number etc will best suit your goals. I used it whe I got serious about loosing weight and I continue to use it to this day

Hi There!
I had a personal trainer and she would always call me 'Shakey Arms' when I was doing any sort of training. The pain would be tough, my arms would shake and the only thing she would say is...'work through it, the pain is the lactic acid it will go away when you are done.' Know what? She was right.....Now I am not saying to over do anything, but you should feel some strain when working out.
Start out around 15-20 and then work your way up each week or so. Even if is just by ones or twos. Try breaking them up into reps as well. Try 10 rest for 30 seconds, then do 10 more.
Good Luck

i normally do the 20 minute taebo power roundvideo. but after that, i normally copy the moves of the video, but to my own tv show.
i end up spending about 30 mins, ofcourse it is not as intense as following along with billy; but i end up doing more reps.
So if i calculate this under teh activity calculator, will this still count as taebo?! or will the calories burned be under general aerobics or kick boxing..
i am very flabby. and over weight. is something like taebo going to make me shed the pounds as well as tighten up my loose flab as im losing weight?!
like i know windsor pilates claims to shed pounds, but i feel that it will just tighten you up, but your excess skin will stil be there. i guess im skeptical since i used to do it and never ever broke a sweat. sure, my stomach and arms and legs were tighter, but i was def still overweight.
im just asking that you know when you see past customers who say these videos worked for them, did their body really get that tight and toned. or did they have to do additoinal weight training on the side?
my arms and thighs are the worst. im hoping with all this punching and kicking with billy blanks, it will make them smaller and toned
is it okay to do crunches right now, whiel i am still trying to lose some weight. or should i do it closer to when i reach my goal so i will have less body fat.
i heard somehwere, if u have 3% body fat, then only you can get abs

Go for some long walks to burn fat off.
If you want to do pushups, do the Hindu Pushup variety, it's harder, works more muscles and makes you much stronger than a regular pushup.

If the idea is to burn calories, then brisk walking is much better than pushups or situps.
However, if you'd like a flatter stomach, try abdominal crunches rather than situps. The latter use the hip flexors and so have less effect on the abs.
I think your idea of starting off at 20 reps and working up is a good one.
And, since muscle burns calories more effectively than fat, why not do a little more resistance training? Squats and shoulder presses are easily done at home.
Remember, though, that exercise is only part of the solution. For long-term success in weight loss, you need a program to follow. That includes mental attitude exercise and control over what you eat. I spent many years trying to exercise myself slim, and I'm here to tell you that exercise alone doesn't do it unless you're an elite athlete and exercise for 6 hours a day.
Good luck.

Listen to Nevd, he is very wise!!!
Also, look at lite cardio activities such as bike riding, walking, stretching, Pilates, etc. You will be amazed at how you feel once you become active.
