Fighting cancer is a great cause. I've had two family members die from cancer. Donate today. Also, if you are running windows, there is a program that you can download that helps test new cancer drugs. I've been running it for almost 5 years now. Here's where to get it:

It uses your computer's spare processing power to run simulations of the drugs binding with cancer proteins. You won't notice it, because it backs off as you use your computer more. So if you're playing games, it shuts off completely. But if all you do is surf the web, your computer sits idle most of the time.
Make your computer a part of a world-wide cancer research super computer.
(side note, I'm not affiliated with any part of this software, aside from using it on several machines. I also ran this post by Peter, and he said it was ok to post.)

| when is the three day event ? are you and her doing it or jus her ? I am doing the 5k run here for my sister and dear friend I lost Sunday I think this is great !

Hi stayingfocus! I will be participating in the Tampa Bay, FL Breast Cancer 3 Day. This year's event is being held October 13, 14, and 15. Each participant raises a minimum of $2,200 and walks 60 miles over the course of 3 days. All proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation (85%) and the National Philanthropic Trust (15%). The SGK Foundation supports outreach, treatment and research, while the NPT puts away a portion of the money raised so there will be research dollars available to future generations.
Thav: Thanks for the info about the computer software! I, too, have lost many family members to cancer and recently had a breast health scare myself. I am blessed to be healthy and because I have an able body decided the least I could do was raise money for those that aren't as lucky as I am.
