I have 2 snacks a day, they are either fruit or yoghurt. I only have 2 because i tend not to eat anything after 6pm and i have my dinner just before then so i don't want anything else. :D

| My favorite snack - hands down - is carrot sticks, celery sticks, or sugar snap peas dipped in spicy hummus. It is super yummy and super healthy. I also just eat fresh fruit or veggies as a snack. My most unhealthy snack would have to be pita and hummus, but I have that very rarely -- I prefer baby carrots.

| One of my favorite snacks would have to be snack size 100 calorie bags of microwave popcorn!!! Otherwise, I love yogurt, carrot sticks, prunes (yes, I really like them a lot), almonds, a hand full of fiber packed cereal, apples, oranges, and special k cereal bars... just to name a few.:)

Wow, some of those sound so good!
My snacks usually tend to be unhealthy, but not in lrage portions: serving of potato chips, marshmallows 1-2 melted in the microwave, miniature candy bars...I definitely need to invest in some of these healthier options!

I have 2 or 3 snacks (really small meals) per day. One of them is always a slice of chocolate/banana oatcake, the recipe for which you can find in the Veggie recipe section of these forums.
Happy chomping!

I usually have 2 snacks.........1 between lunch and dinner and one at night.
Usually a protien powder shake in the afternoon and the 94% fat free popcorn at night
Heres a low-cal alternative to an american favorite....................Try this grilled cheese sandwich for a quick pick me up:
2 slices of reduced calorie bread (100 cal.)
2 slices fat free cheese (50 cal.)
Pam cooking spray.
Spray pan and one side of each slice of bread with a 1/3 second spray.....Grill sandwich on both sides until toasted. Great sandwich for only 150 Calories and 1 gram of fat. And the cheese melts well for being fat free.

- low fat yogurt (or cottage cheese) with fresh strawberries, blueberries
- crackers and baby carrots

Nothing like ressurecting an old thread....
I have three snacks a day, between each meal:
#1. Kashi Granola bar (usually trail mix)
#2. Kashi Granola bar (usually PB)
#3. LF Yogurt with some Kashi Crunch cereal and whey protein mixed in. Or I will have 1/2 cup of LF cottage Cheese. Occasionally, I will opt for the Kashi (or similar) fire roasted veggie crackers and some LF Jalapeno Cheddar cheese. Very rarely, we will cut up veggies and have them with some LF dip. Reasoning to the rarity of the veggies is the recent prices.

I love smoothies, I use frozen strawberries, bananas, raspberries, peaches or whatever I have on hand. Add a little artificial sweetener. I use either skim milk or ff soy milk (IMO the soy milk is the best) and blend to perfection. Low cal and u feel like you are really indulging.

I also love chips and salsa...although too many chips is a no no.

You just reminded me one of my fave snacks is half an avocado (seed removed) & refull the seed cavity with salsa!

I have to admit, I only have one snack a day usually, but its pretty big for a snack. Usually more like a mini-meal. My favorite is a PBR sandwich (Peanut-butter and Raisins). It tastes very similar to PBJ, but you don't get all the added sugars and #%@&! that you get in jelly, but you do get some added fiber and nutrients. The texture can take some getting used to, but I actually find it tastes better than PBJ. Not so sickeningly sweet. I also usually have something with the sandwich, like cottage cheese or fruit (I'm a apple and banana freak. lol). Sometimes I'll have a small bowl of veggies like peas or broccoli or something.

I like fat free strawberry yogurt with diced fruit such as sliced grapes, mandarin oranges, strawberrys, pineapple... whatever fruit you have on hand but it is really good with grapes. Mix in the diced fruit and top with fat free cool whip. Yummy!
