I have to admit ive been on a weight roller coaster for about 3 years now... I played football and baseball in high school and baseball in college... while doing that i had coaches on my back to get bigger, stronger, faster, blah blah blah... so i did... Im 5'9'' in high school i was a fairly ripped 215lbs, I was told to slim down for college baseball, so i did... to 210lbs... but lean and more flexible... with the workouts we had in the offseason and during the season i figured i was burning about 1500-2000 calories a day, easy! maybe more on game days or real heavy running days, or whenever the coach was #%@&! off. but 3 years removed from all of that here i sit...

and by sit i mean doing nothing, im an accountant now. (that means i sit in a cubicle and type on here all day!) I quickly gained about 20-25lbs. I had my weight down to 185 right out of college, I was looking to be ripped at the beach so i got my weight down and looked great! but now im at 210lbs and i still have most of the muscle i had its just covered in a nice healthy layer of fat! Ive been struggling mostly to stick to a diet and workout routine. I got engaged and now we tend to eat out more, get ice cream and whatnot (she is very thin! she eats everything and is still 5'9'' 110lbs). so ive finally got back into it and feel great about it!

I am now rock climbing twice a week and doing circuit workouts 3 days a week. I have a ton of energy and cant wait to get to the gym every day! I have lost mostly water weight so far but im down about 8lbs in 2 1/2 weeks!!

I found a workout that i enjoy mostly because of the speed (about 45 mins) and the intensity (heavy sweat about 5-10 minutes into it) and i know my body is feeling better and that is what makes me feel the best!!

I am new to this forum and I will continue to keep everyone posted!!

down 8 1/2 lbs only 20 more to go!!

How is your weightloss going now? I feel as though I can relate to you because of the whole former atlete deal -- and the significant other who can eat just about anything.

Speaking of SOs who can eat just about anything ... my ex-husband can't even push a button on a microwave, eats out three meals a day, and is very thin. I'd be surprised if his weight has varied by more than five pounds in the 20 years I've known him. Of course he's in terrible health because he eats junk and represses his emotions. I keep hoping our 16-year-old son (now 6'6" and 185 pounds) got his dad's metabolism, because he's a total junk food and soda junkie, and his dad reinforced that bigtime when he was very small.
