| Almost 3 years ago I discovered this website, and I can not tell you how helpful it was when searching for accurate info on calories burned and the calories in food. I always felt the info was solid and unbiased. Thank you caloriesperhour.com for giving me the info that was needed in helping me loose 55 lbs. I have kept it off for 2 years and I still reference this site for info.

| Congrats! I discovered the site about 3 years ago as well and for the first time in my life I have been consistently healthier and have a much better understanding of how to live a healthy lifestyle.

| I'm 42 and can't believe I didn't do it sooner. Do you ever have anxiety over the possibility of going back to the old you. The old me always seems to be waiting for select opportunities to show up and say "eat something bad, you'll feel better". I thought by now it would have stopped, but I guess it's sort of like a disease. It has gotten much better, especially with a decent amount of exercise.

| Totally... I feel that way all the time, especially as go through phases of not being as good about everything. It's funny because I still want to buy clothese that give me room "just in case". I can't believe that there's a possibility that I might NOT get big again. ... like there's a hungry beast who wants to eat chocolate and peanut butter that will emerge and take over! I think it's true for everyone don't you? It's hard to be healthy in this world; it's not exactly popular to not want to eat pizza and burgers all the time.

| I try to not let the "beast"(I have used that exact same word for it) have it's way with me, but occasionally it puts one in it's own win column against me. I like having a large meal so I can feel very full. So most of my success is from eating large meals, but of the right foods. A large plate full of assorted grilled vegies is one of my favorites. When I eat all that, I'm truly full and there's something about vegies that seems to drive off food cravings. I think I could write a book on all the tricks I've developed over the past few years.

I'm no doctor, but tell me what stage you are at in your lifestyle change. There are different mindsets for different stages.

Angela,
This one. I doubt you'll find a more accurate website when it comes to calorie counting and burning. If your trying to get a handle on whats what in the food and exercising portion of your life, your on the right website.

| I was 362 pounds, now I'm 260 pounds. I want to get down to 170 pounds. I'm struck, to where I'm not motivated anymore. I'm slowly gaining weight back.

| Keeping the motivation up is in my opinion the hardest part of any weight loss plan. You have a nice advantage going for you already though, a 102 lb. loss. Now that you have seen that it's not impossable, there really is no stopping you. Try posting some of those 362 lb. photos of you around the kitchen every now and then. Sometimes they will stop me in my tracks. If you don't have a photo, take the equivelent weight of your loss in cement blocks (or something like that) and set them up on your kitchen counter. Some will say thats crazy, but so is putting back on 102 lbs. after all that hard effort. I don't know if you have ever had this happen to you, but sometimes jealous people will say " your just going to put it back on". The anger from those kind of comments was quite motivating to me also.

One day when I was a kid and my mother was pregnant with my sister she got fed up with my brother and I giving her trouble. We were in the supermarket and she gave each of us a five pound bag of sugar to carry around to see what it felt like for her... carrying the baby.
I've never forgotten that lesson.
Carry around something that represents (some of) the weight you've lost for long enough and you'll really appreciate your progress!
