I just wanted to share my story thus far!!
Im a 27 yr old male, and at mid November last year, weighed in at just under 107kg (235 pounds). So, it was time to make a change.
I started back at the gym for a few weeks, mostly doing some cycling every day. At the start of December, I decided to get a personal trainer, 4 days a week, for 45 minute sessions.
Fast forward a minute.. I am now at 96kg (211 pounds). So, a drop of 24 pounds in 4 months.
As mentioned, I started with the trainer in December, at the start of January, I went on holidays in Dubai for a month - so basically all exercise and diet went out the window. Mind you... I actually did not put on any weight, but, did not lose any either!!
When I got back from holidays, I weighed in at 101kg (222 pounds). Since then, I have been back with my trainer 4 days a week for one month solid now, and have lost 4.5kg (10 pounds) since then. In the last month, I have also modified my diet to be a lot more controlled (calorie and portion wise).
But, aside from the weightloss, I have also put on a heap of muscle, and feel much stronger. So, I guess, without the muscle growth, I probably would probably weigh less now... but, am happy to have muscle growth, and a slightly slower weight loss process!!
My aim is to be at 85kg by July. Hopefully, that will happen a bit sooner.
So, in summary.. how I have got here:
• Personal trainer 4 days a week (45 minute sessions) - varies between weights, boxing, cardio
• Ride at least half hour on the excercise bike 4-5 days a week
• Calorie and portion controlled my main meals

Hello to all-
I'm thinking that I do not know where to begin with my story or my diet plans for the future. I have been overweight most all of 44 years on this planet. I own and operate a juice bar/cafe next door to a busy health club so I know what must be done but doing it is entirely different. I go all day, working circles around my employees, don't stop to eat and then come home at night night and think that I ma entitled to anything I want. Being a gourmet cook I love being in the kitchen and that can also spell trouble. In the past I been very active; competitive tennis, exercise, golf, volleyball but when I relocated 8 years ago and opened this business I dropped all activities with the exception of golf...a very lazy sport! Currently my weight is at its all time high, 240 lbs and I swear I am uncomfortable in every way. Overall I have decent muscle tone and have always been able to do things physically despite carrying around extra baggage. My Dad, who was also overweight when alive always said he and I were built like the "michelin man". I have recently met someone who is having great success with these HCG injections and I'd like to know more. I know it takes hard work to lose weight I just really need something to jump start the process and was thinking that if these injections are safe that it may be 1 way to get going. Would love to hear from anyone with experience regarding the injections and from anyone with words of wisdom as well! Ciao!

Hi trueblue... (australian?)
well, I dont know anything about these injections... so, I cant comment. But, I will say this:
The best way to jump start the process, is to just get in and do it - exercise and diet. Really. It sucks, its hard, you dont feel like doing it, and initially, it seems like your putting all this effort in, and nothings happening.
Thats what I was like. I was about your size (a touch smaller) - and for the first couple months, I only lost a few kg's - I hated going to the gym, would spend more time thinking about excuses not to go, I didnt eat absolutely terribly, but, portion wise, was eating too much. It was hard to get motivated.
In the last 6 weeks, the weightloss has really excelerated - about 18 pounds - as well as definite muscle definition.
I think it took the first month or two to get back in to reasonable fitness. Now that I have, I actually like going to the gym, I dont eat as much as I used to, becuase, I simply can not - I get full on much less food, and the weight is shedding off...
When I started in December last year - my goal was to get to 187 pounds (85kg) - I really thought it would take me a year to get there (that would mean having to lose 22kg or nearly 50 pounds) - and for ages, it just seemed like nothing was happening. But, now, I actually think I will get to my goal by sometime in May. 22kg/50 pounds in about 6 months, but with most of it taken off in a shorter time than that - now that i am in full swing.
I am now 205 pounds - so another 18 pounds to go....
So.. you work next door to a health club.
Well, I highly recommend getting a personal trainer - even if its for the first month or two - theres your KICK START. Trainers are great, because you become accountable to someone. They dont judge you cause you have a bit extra around middle, they have the same goals as you, and will motivate you greatly!!
I have a trainer 4 days a week - and its the absolute best thing I have ever, ever done for myself. You have no idea. Over time, you in a way become friends with them - so, rather than just "going to the gym" it almost becomes a social thing as well... "oh, im looking forward to seeing my trainer tomorrow..." and they are just as happy to see the results as you are! Seriously, this is the kick start you need in my opinion!!
I tried diet pills, and meal replacements.. and theyre all #%@&!. You have some weight to lose, but its not as much as you think. Exercise and diet will do the trick.....Last edited on 2 April 2008 03:50 am by bleez

Why thankyou.... the reality is, there is no quick solution. Its a lifestyle change :-)
Losing weight sucks, until you start seeing results, and once you see the results... then it is soooo much easier - so you just need to get over that hump - which i am glad to say i have!!

Hey bleez, please post again when you get to your goal. Which I see no reason why you won't. Keep up the great work!

I sure will....
I am at 92kg at the minute or 202 pounds. So, a little bit to go yet. The weight loss has slowed a bit, but, then again, my workouts at the gym of late have been more centered around muscle growth than fat loss.
But Im loving my new "guns" haha

Don't get discouraged by your weight loss slowing down. Since I have gotten so close to my new goal weight, it is almost at a stand still.
But, I will get there! I just have to stick with it and keep trying.

Hi,
Exercise and diet are a good way to go to loose weight but when a person is stuck or has a hormone imbalance or age losing weight can be difficult. I was a weight training before kids and after well the weight never came off no matter what I tried. (weight loss programs, trainer etc) I found that HCG helped me loss 44 lbs but most of all I was 40% body fat and now I'm 22%. I didn't loss good muscle. I found it easy to do and never hungry. You can do a light work out but you don't have too. Walking is suggested.
It is a doctored supervised program so you are monitored at all times. I went to Dr. Kathy Kamin 480-577-6630 in Scottsdale. I love this program so much and have seen it help so many people that I now am working for her. I wouldn't promote something that I don't believe in. If you have any questions call her and ask. I think it's a great program. But most of all you loose the bad fat not the important ones.
Good luck in what ever you decide.
