| Hi everyone! Although I still need to lose about 20 pounds I am still a success story. To start with, I am 5'4" and currently weigh about 147. I ballooned up to 192 a few years ago after quitting my full time cleaning job. I weighed myself one day and just cried! My hubby, who is so sweet, never told me that I was getting so fat! First I tried Atkins.....Terrible diet! Do Not Try It!!! Then I just made a decision to eat right. Make healthy foods the staple of your diet! Here's a list: Lots of fruits and veggies! Lean Meat, cheese, 1% milk, healthy cereals, light yogurt, wheat bread and pasta......Then for convienience I choose for lunch, Light Soups, Healthy Choice Meals, Lean Cuisiene's, Lean Pockets, sugar free fruit cups, etc.....I would still eat what I want for Dinner but I would not overeat. For snacks I would have sugar free Jello and Pudding or the 100 calorie packs. Then of course is the exercising! I was doing 40 min a day twice a day on a treadmill. But if you don't have one just walk, or ride a bike, whatever! Then my knees started hurting which stinks when you are only in your early 30's! This is where I am currently stuck at 147! I bought an elliptical and plan on using it more! I joined to New Year New You Challenge and can't wait to start! If I can do it, anyone can! Whatever anyone does, don't fall for the diet scams! Slim Fast may be good for a snack, but not for a lifestyle! And stay away from diet pills! If they worked, everyone that used them would be thin! Think about it.....

Well, I agree! You have done great!! I'm doing about all the same stuff!! I am current at 146lbs. Back about 5.5 years ago, I was 110lbs!! Then I got pregnant with my wonderful son...gained 70lbs!!! It has been REALLY hard for me to lose it!! My ex-husband didn't really care what I looked like...mainly b/c he didn't want other guys looking at me, and as long as I was big...they wouldn't!!! lol Well, good thing I'm not with him anymore!! I have a great boy friend who supports me each and every time I start a new diet, or diet pill, or shots!! lol I've done it all! This time I'm doing it the right way! I'm eating healthy, small portions(I just realized a few week ago how BIG my portions were!) and I'm walking. Later down the road I wanna get back into working out and doing aerobics. Sorry I'm rambling! I just think it's great how far you have came!! I hope you keep your head up an finish strong!! MUAH!!!!!!

I am 5'4 also, and also got stuck at 146-147 for a long time. So, don't give up! You can get passed it. I did, so I know you can.
Now I just need to get passed 127lbs ~somehow I think it will be harder this time~
Good Luck!

| Hey cportwine! Glad to hear someone else was in my shoes since you are same height and all...So how exactly did you get over the hump??? I am at 145 now. I exercise all the time....I eat okay MOST of the time. Maybe that is the problem! What did you do differently?

I guess mine was, that I quit trying after I got so far. I was happy with being at 146-147lbs compared to what I started out as. I did get down to 133lbs at one point.
Then I just got back on the band wagon when my weight started going up again. To bad for me, that didn't make any difference. As it turned out, I had a thyroid problem and high cholesterol. So, once I got the thyroid under control, I started to eat really healthy to get my cholesterol down. It worked and I lost weight to boot. So, I guess medical reason forced me to lose more weight.
I wish I had a better answer for you, something that would help you.
Just keep at it. Keep trying, and it will come off sooner or later. I think everyone get stuck at times and it just takes persistence to over come it. I am currently stuck in the 125-129lbs range. I want to be at 120lbs. Don't know if it will ever happen. But, I am going to keep at it.
