well last night was our company Christmas party so I had to get a new outfit. I went to a local department store and bought some new pants. I tried on size 40 and it was still a little big, I then tried on a size 38 and man it felt good. Its been 15 years since I've worn a size 38 waist pants I almost cried...almost.
So this morning I calculated my total intake for yesterday and man was I suprised. My calorie intake was 3137. Am I upset no, I feel good and not bloated or sluggish. My carbs were high but most of it was from veggies. I had light beer (only 4), a few pretzels, some cookies. I had some other stuff that I can not calculate but thats okay. I even won a drawing for a Dell lap top computer our company was giving away last night.
So in the past year I have lost 100 pounds (down to 221) and 10 inches. This is motivating me even more to get to 190.
A few of my fellow co-workers were talking about getting gastric bypass to lose the weight but I could not talk them out of it. I told them to give me a few minutes to explain to them how it can be done and offered this web site as a ref. to help them. However, they are still meeting with the nutritionist at Hershey Medical center in January.
So a big thank you to you all and the person who created this awsome web site. So my journey must continue. The road to 190 will be harder but I accept the challenge.

You did what you could to help them, so don't let it hold you back. Just by doing so well, I'm sure the person/people behind this site understand how thankful you are.

Thank you for sharing your story! One hundred pounds lost is FABULOUS. May I ask why you think the next 30 pounds will be harder than those 100? I have a dear friend who started a totally new lifestyle (by falling in love with an active, healthy person!) and in two years has lost 136 pounds SO FAR. I met her in the Spring and so I have known her for the last 20 pounds or so. For her, continuing the new lifestyle means continuing to lose weight slowly toward her ideal weight. Even after two years it is still happening! FYI: She and her girlfriend walk/hike a few miles a day and watch what they eat.

Thanks for the post, I actually enjoying myself now and look at each day as a new challenge. Up at 0630 for a 2 mile jog and off to work by nine. More energy and the compliment I get from people who have not seen me in a while and even the ones I see every day is great.
Went to the doctors 2 weeks ago, 20th December, and weighed in at 214, 106 pounds lost. Today I was at the recruiters office and did my tape test. I made it back in, so far, I will be going for my physical in the next 2 weeks.
So far I am helping one of my higher ups with his diet. He started the Nutra-system diet and realized that he still needed to shop for food. So I showed him how to use this site and to read the tutorial for more info on nutrition.
Another co-worker of mine is also very interested in losing weight. I showed him this site and gave him so ideas and examples of my diet.
So all in all I am beginning to have more people come to me for help and support. I feel good about this and do my best to motivate them. One person at a time.....
